Bishop Simpson Meets VP Boakai and Team

The Principal/Administrator of the Haywood Mission Institute, Bishop Leo M. Simpson has met with former Vice President Joseph N. Boakai at his Rehab community residence.
The two exchanged mutual sentiments and commitment to the bound of friendship between them, which dated as far back in 2007.
During a tete-a-tete, the principal of the Haywood Mission Institute informed the former V.P, Boakai that the visit is to cement the relationship and bound of friendship that they had and the pivotal role played.
Dr. Simpson explained how the five arches of the land that belong to the Haywood Mission Institute, a portion that the American Cooperative School is built which brought about conflict between the two parties, that he had to intervene.
In April 2007, the school pulled or stopped its activities in the country as the result of the Liberian civil conflict, and the Haywood Mission Institute legally reclaimed the land.
Following that situation, the American government through its embassy sent a letter of notification to the Liberian government to probe into the matter and that it was at this the point the former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf appointed the former VP to take charge of the matter and bring it to its logical conclusion.
However, according to Bishop Simpson, the former VP handled the case diplomatically, professionally and skillfully and the stand-off was resolved.
Bishop Simpson said these and many other interactions gave rise to the visit as well as the educational and statesmanship roles they played for the betterment of the state.
In response, Ambassador Boakai emphasized that he remains committed to the friendship that subsists between him and Bishop Simpson and prayed that the Bishop continues to educate the Liberian child as well as their spiritual development or growth.
The courtesy visit was the newly elected National Chairman Of the Unity Party Rev: J. Luther Tarpah and Mr. Robert Bestman who expressed delight.
