Bishop Donyen Eyes Legislative Seat Again

The Bishop of the Independent Catholic Church of Liberia (ICCL), Bishop Nimely Jarbokly Donyen has broken silence that he will contest in the 2023 General and Presidential Elections.
He disclosed that he will be contesting for the Montserrado County District # 2 Representative Seat that will be vacant adding that he will be a formidable candidate based on the numerous calls that he continues to receive from the people asking him to contest.
Bishop Donyen was speaking during the weekend in the New Israel Community in the Township of Johnsonville upon an invitation that was extended to him by a newly organized women group under the banner ‘Kukartonor’ from the Kpelle vernacular meaning ‘We are one’ to acquaint him with the aims and objectives of the organization and expressed their desire to form part of the Bishop’s micro loan project.
The Clergyman who has been providing humanitarian services in the district told the women that their request is unconditionally granted and informed them that they will benefit during the disbursement of the funds for the next batch of beneficiaries asserting that the roads rehabilitation project will be done when certain conditions are indeed appropriate and timely.
According to him, some people with political power in the district and other places have transformed themselves into monsters purposely to stand in the way of development initiatives that his partnership has carried out in the district recalling that they brought pipe borne water for the people and those politicians blocked and diverted the water for commercial purpose and they broke a market building down that they built in the district.
Speaking further, the ICCL Bishop pointed out that those politicians are posing serious obstacles to the implementation of several projects like youth empowerment project that was intended to train the less fortunate, adding that because of those hindrances his partners are now even afraid to give money for projects, because to withdraw money now from the commercial banks is also a difficult issue due to the poor banking ethics meted to customers.
He then urged the elated women to remain calm by 2024 because those basic services they are deprived of at the moment will be restored because those who are blocking their services today will not be there to execute their plans and promised to work with the people of New Israel so that the community as well as other communities can be developed.
Responding on behalf of the women group, Ma Tenneh Mulbah, President and Alberta P. Collins, Secretary General respectively expressed thanks and appreciation to the Bishop for identifying with them at difficult times throughout the years.
They stated that the Bishop has distinguished himself as the only private individual in the district who continues to assist them when it comes to health crisis, education including road rehabilitation, pipe borne water among others adding that they are testimonials to his humanitarian services.
“He gave Ebola, Coronavirus prevention materials with food and also reconditioned some of our community roads in November 2020 as well as other interventions,” they testified.
So we were very sure that he would accept all our request describing him as a true philanthropic because according to them he didn’t win the 2017 elections but he has remained focused on providing needed services to the district.
“As the Bible says that everything has time so 2023 is the Bishop’s time and as such, we are obligated to give a bigger platform by electing him as our Representative for him to do more because he has proven to be a true servant of the people and has a perfect lobbying power,” they stressed.

According to the conscious women group, they tested a hypothesis of the 2017 Elections which results undoubtedly directed them as to what decision they are going to make in 2023.
