Beware Of Inner Circle –Methodist Prelate Advises Pres. Weah

By Alex Yomah

The Senior Pastor of the Georgia Patten Memorial United Methodist Church, Rev. George K. Monbo, has urged President George Weah to be mindful with those he considers in his inner circle as senior government’s officials.

Pastor Monbo said it is disturbing and disheartening to have folks around the   presidency   that   cannot  shield or  protect the presidency-  and worst of it;   leaking   classified   documents/information belonging within the  inner circle to the public which many times are used against government.

According to him, Liberians who voted him into power are getting infuriated about the way and manner information is controlled.

The church believes there is someone or there are some   officials who are enemies to the regime and as such, feuding and releasing sensitive information to oppositions.

He made the  warning  when the  Methodist  Church, October 6, 2019  conducted  a thanksgiving and intercessory worship  Service  for President George Weah aimed at seeking God’s intervention  to give the President direction,  wisdom  and protection to lead  this land.

“ We thank  the protocols to allow our President  to come for this  Thanksgiving & Intercessory Worship Service in  observance  of the 53rd  birth anniversary of  President George especially  these  times when the President is shaking by opposition’s negative criticisms and plans to hijack the  presidency,” Pastor  Monbo asserted.

Adding, “We have to thank   God to give  the President strength  to  have  power to lead  his country amidst plans by  oppositions to  shake  and  diversify  his   vision  he has for Liberia.

Pastor Monbo claimed  that those  the President  consider  in the inner circle  of government  to work in the interest  of government,  are not doing so, rather, they are  bent  on  undercutting  his government.

Stating  further; “ Some of you  have had the privileges to work in  past governments including  this administration and you are interested  in disgracing   this  President; if  you do not    desist ,  your disgrace awaits  you,” the prelate warned.

The prelate said, there  were many  presidential candidates that contested  in the  2017 presidential election in which  President George Weah was elected; this means, he was the only candidate qualified  in the mind  of God to lead Liberia this time,  and  admonished   oppositions to give  President Weah his constitutional time to lead the country.

“Plans by oppositions to impose the presidency intended to twist the President’s vision, is not possible; he has his own way to lead,” Rev. Monbo stated

“ If you [opposition] think  you have the experts  to lead better, wait after Weah’s time,  come and convince us, we the citizens will make a decision either to accept  or not,”  he said.
