…Wounuah Urges Lions Club Officials

By Bill W. Cooper
The guest speaker of the 2nd induction and installation of the Monrovia Providence Lions Club (MPLC) has challenged the newly elected officials to be servants to humanity.
Mr. David Wounuah, one of Liberia’s youngest civil engineers stressed, “Unless we are willing to do one or all of these things, we cannot claim to be in service for humanity because you are in an organization of service to society.”
According to him, the true definition of service must not be measured in words, perspectives or definitions instead, the actions deeds and a measure of the extent to which one is able to deprive themselves for the good of others.
He explained that while there are multiple definitions and perspectives of service based on one personal and collective experience, there might also and never be one absolute definitions of service as well.
“Are our individual perspectives wrong or are they law and gospels, absolutely not. However, how far are we as country, community, organization, family and individuals willing to go in service to humanity or what can we sacrifice in our services to humanity,” he wondered.
Mr. Wounuah further stated, “It also goes without saying that unless we have lost ourselves in service for others, we dare not call ourselves servants. Hopefully we all remember this the next time we put on these wonder outfits in the name of this grate service organization.”
