After a careful reviewed of all documents followed by thorough assessment of the school facility, the Bushrod College of Science and Technology (B-Tech) has finally been accredited by the Board of the Liberia National Physician Assistant Association (LINPAA) to offer an Associate of Arts (AA) Degree in Physician Assistant (PA) training.
The chairperson of the Liberia National Physician Assistant Association Board, Zayzay Yekeh, said the Bushrod College of Science and Technology through its president Dr. Edward S. Forh has been in full compliance with all rules and guidelines of the Association in obtaining such accreditation.
He noted that the school has closely been working with the board and executives of the Association for the past seven years for the purpose of obtaining legitimacy amongst several other schools to offer such a professional training, something he said many institutions have failed to do and are operating illegally.
Presenting the accreditation letter to the President of Bushrod College of Science and Technology (B-Tech) over the weekend at the school’s campus in New Kru Town, the LINPAA board chair termed the accreditation as a big boast for the institution in its quest to provide a quality and well approved education for Liberian students.
He added that LINPAA board is the only constituted body that is charged with the responsibility of granting authorization for the establishment of Physician Assistant School in the Country.
Also speaking, the President of the Liberia National Physician Assistant Association, Theophilus Fayiah lauded the administration of B-Tech for their passion in providing higher education for Liberians, stressing that LINPAA remains open in working with the institution to ensure that students get the required education in the area of Physician Assistant.
He added that the board and executives of the Association are indeed excited for the institution for its new achievement; thus admonishing the school administration to continue providing quality education.
Receiving the accreditation letter on behalf of the school administration, the president of B-Tech Dr. Edward S. Forh lauded the board of LINPAA for granting the school such authorization, indicating that the application to obtain accreditation for the purpose of offering Degree in Physician Assistant was submitted since 2015.
Dr. Forh added that as an educator, he will ensure that every professional skill being taught and degrees offered at the Bushrod College of Science and Technology be approved and accredited by relevant authorities.
The B-Tech President at the same called on the board and executives of the Liberia National Physician Assistant Association to continue providing the necessary support and guidance to the institution for a successful running of the PA program, stressing that the school remains committed to the development of the Heath care delivery system of the Country.
The Bushrod College of Science and Technology is the only institution of higher learning on the Bushrod Island that is currently offering an Associate of Arts Degree in Midwifery, Bachelor Degrees in Human Resource and Supply Chain Managements, Bachelor Degree in Computer Networking among others with full accreditation from the Commission on Higher Education. With the accreditation received, B-Tech is now offering Associate of Arts Degree in two Health programs under the department of the Naketa D. Forh School of Health Sciences.
