Nimba School Board Chairman Luogon Lah says outgoing County education officer (CEO) Moses Dologbaye should be audit for accountability and transparency.
Chairman Lah disclosed that the outgoing CEO Dologbaye has turned over MOE assigned vehicle (jeep) to the office of the school board in Sanniquellie.
According to Lah, Nimba Schools System comprises of 435 public school,13 education districts and13 DEOs with assigned motorcycles and the motorbikes are still in the possession of the outgoing DEOs.
“There are 13 school board members and we, the board members, want a turn over note from outgoing CEO Dologbaye to the newly appointed CEO Francis Legay,” Lah revealed.
“We want to know the total text books and motorbikes including other government properties,” Chairman Lah pointed out.
“The school board was not informed of the appointment and release of the DEOs and CEOs therefore, the immediate appointment or relieve without the knowledge of the school board violate the 2011 Education Act in the country,” the Nimba School board explained.
“The 2011 Education Act says appointment of DEOs and CEOs should come from the county school board to the Ministry of Education and the appointment should be carryout in collaboration with the county school board,” Chairman Lah stated.
The Ministry of Education recently relieved CEO Dologbaye along with 10 DEOs assigned to the various education districts in the county and assigned them to the southeastern counties.
The immediate transfer of the education officers has been politicized by the aggrieved DEOs and their boss Dologbaye as political witch hunt.
Since the transfer, the DEOs are still in possession of the MOE motorbikes riding it round time, according to rumor.
