The Standard Bearer of the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP), Alexander Cummings, told young people at the Economic Freedom Fighters of Liberia (EFFL) conference to exemplify different and new patterns of behavior if Liberia is to experience the change desired.
Cummings referencing his favorite quotation, “You can’t keep doing the same thing and expect different results,” said it applies more to young people than any other group in this current Liberian political dispensation.
The Economic Freedom Fighters of Liberia is one of Liberia’s newest registered political parties, predominantly composed of young people drawn from various schools, universities, colleges, and interest groups in Liberia.
The group held its first National People’s Assembly Convention at the Paynesville Town Hall, on Friday, March 31, where several political party leaders, including Mr. Cummings, were invited to address the occasion.
EFFL said it has no intention to field any Presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, and it is open and willing to collaborate with any viable political party to make Mr. George Weah a one term President.
Addressing hundreds of EFFL partisans, the CPP Standard Bearer stressed the dire need for change, with emphasis on young people demonstrating different behavior of integrity, ethics and new ways of doing things.
Cummings said the desired positive change will not be achieved through mere wishful thinking or talking, but rather through hard work, sacrifice, and adopting new different behavioral patterns that breakaway from the age-old ways of doing things in Liberia.
The CPP Standard Bearer said young people represent the future of Liberia, and as such, their cardinal objective should be for all Liberians to be given equal rights and opportunities to explore their full potential.
He congratulated partisans, members and officers of the Economic Freedom Fighters of Liberia on the occasion of their first national assembly convention and for the invitation extended the CPP to address the August body.
In a special statement, the EFFL political leader, Emmanuel Gonquoi, saluted the CPP Standard Bearer for his outstanding leadership qualities as well as support to him during his political struggle in 2020.
He referred to Mr. Cummings and Mr. Benoni Urey of the All Liberian Party, who also attended the program as ‘fathers’ who he said have been of great help and inspiration to him in his political struggle for change in Liberia.
The EFFL political leader detested Liberia’s President George Weah of the Coalition of Democratic Change (CDC), as “misrepresentation of democracy and a misguided character” that must be made one term President of Liberia.
