At CBL: Tarlue’s Leadership Under ‘Heighten Scrutiny’

Governor Aloysius J. Tarlue’s suspension comes amid heightened scrutiny over the CBL’s financial practices and a push for greater transparency and accountability

Following the General Auditing Commission (GAC) damning audit report on the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL), President Joseph Boakai has with immediate effect, suspended the governor.

Addressing a MICAT briefing on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, Jerolinmek Piah said the President’s decision is also aimed at restoring donors, international partners and restoring public trust in the CBL, disclosing that Tarlue will be suspended to answer to the audit report by the GAC.

He added that the President’s decisive move to suspend Governor Tarlue further underscores his administration’s commitment to addressing the issues of corruption across all government Ministries and agencies. Details follow later
