Another Reconciliation Committee Set Up In Nimba

The Chairperson of the International Religious Council, Pastor Henry H. W Paul, has set up a Reconciliation Committee to settle political disputes that derived from campaign messages among the six recent contenders in the just ended Representative by-election in District 1 in Nimba county.
Speaking at the program on November 29, 2021, in Ganta, Pastor Paul explained that the Reconciliation Committee will work in collaboration with the Gompa City Council to advice the candidates to forget the past and work with the newly elected Representative, Samuel Brown.
According to the chairperson of the International Religious Council, the Committee headed by Pastor Samuel Dolo, will gather all six Representative candidates, supporters, elders of the traditional chief council, Gompa city council, Legislative caucus of Nimba and county administrations headed by Superintendent Nelson Korquoi on December 18, 2021 in Ganta for a reconciliation meeting.
Pastor Paul added that First Lady Clara Weah has agreed to build a modern peace house for the people living in the district.
Since the end of the Representative’s by-election, reports of supporters being at loggerheads in many of the communities, towns and villages around the Bain-Garr belt is raising concern among the residents in the district.
A representative of the Muslim Community in Ganta, Old man Keita, thanked the organizers of the program and promised that he will inform his community to participate in order to highlight the land disputes between Muslims and other family members in the county.
During the just ended by-election in District one, Senator Prince Yormie Johnson, appealed to citizens to vote the MRD’s candidate, Professor Francis Manweah, who according to him, is development oriented as all other qualified candidates were not competent for the position.
