The Anglican Church in Liberia has launched the maiden edition of its newsletter titled, ‘The Anglican Times.’
Making the official pronouncement on Sunday, January 31, 2021, the Vicar General (VG), Rev. M. Hne Coleman informed the congregation that the newsletter intends to bring to the public glare all the developmental and humanitarian activities that the church undertakes in Liberia and worldwide.
According to him, this newsletter is void of national and social politics as it will be focused solely on the promotion of God’s Kingdom through church related development activities such as sermons, construction programs, hymns, Biblical quotations and stories that feature youth, women and men’s programs as well as members’ welfare, visitations, deaths and humanitarian gestures organized by the Anglican Church in Liberia, the Diocese or other Anglican congregations and fellowships.
The editor of the newsletter, Gideon Nma Scott, Jr., described The Anglican Times as a monthly newsletter that will highlight development programs and other news worthy activities of the Anglican Church in Liberia, the Diocese of Ibadan Central as well as other fellowships and congregations in the Anglican Communion worldwide. He said, “This newsletter is basically the medium through which the church intends to inform the public of all its activities.”
“In the soonest possible, we will open a radio station to publicize our sermons, hymns, Bible studies and as well inform the public on biblical and religious issues,” the excited Rev. Coleman told his congregation.
Bro. Oba Omobolaji Ogunkoya (Bola) told the Inquirer that the Anglican Church in Liberia intends to reach as many persons as they can with the Gospel of Christ. “This newsletter and our radio station will be the perfect medium through which we can achieve this,” Bola said.
The Anglican Church is an extension of the Anglican Diocese of Ibadan, Central Nigeria with headquarters located in the Shara Community in Paynesville, Liberia.
