Returns From Tour Outside Liberia

Famous musical group dubbed All-star Int’l Musical group headed by African Soldier, Eddie S. Dougbe has announced his group retuned from a musical tour Accra, Ghana and Ivory Coast.


According to him, the group travelled outside of Liberia through the financial support from the United States of Africa Consultancy (USAC) who has always being the forerunner to helping them whenever there is a need.


He appreciates the United States of Africa Consultancy (USAC) always extending helping hands to group to their group.


The Liberian senior traditional musician who sang the song “Shavy born Shavy.” In 2000 made the statement when he held an exclusive interview with this paper recently in Monrovia.


The African soldier said though he had made many albums such as “Da My Area, Liberia Is an Elephant Meat, U can’t finish It, among others but is yet to reap the benefit unlike his counterparts in Nigeria and other countries who become millionaires from a single album alone due to support and contribution they receive from their citizens.


He stated further that his group has been opportune to travel to several countries such as Ghana, Cote D’Ivoire among others for their musical concerts.


He added that many Liberians have the opportunity to support their fellow countrymen to improve their musical career but are unwilling to do so, and it has become so frustrating to the musical industry in the country.


Dougbe said that piracy which is the illegal selling of other people’s works is killing them slowly because when they make their music and people start to advertise their goods with their music even playing it on radio they are supposed to benefit from it.


He is also requesting that a bill be passed so that musicians of the republic must be able to benefits in the form of supporting and promoting the musical artists.


“Other countries have theaters, studios, recording studios among others, even the artists are on monthly salary and always camping in different areas so that at any time the government wishes to use them they can be available. But for us, we hustle and make life for ourselves without the help of anyone; it is really killing our dreams,” he lamented.
