Aggrieved Workers Disrupt CRSG Payment In Nimba

The payment of 1, 600 CRSG aggrieved workers has reportedly been disrupted in Karnplay, Nimba County.
Speaking to the Inquirer, the Deputy Commissioner of Labor, Sam Weh, disclosed that CRSG has embarked on the payment of aggrieved workers after the intervention of the Ministry of Labor in the Country.
According to Weh, the payment of 1, 600 aggrieved workers is ongoing in the aggregate of 215 workers every day until the exercise is completed but, the workers opposed the concept and disrupted the exercise.
“They disrupted the exercise on grounds that everybody be paid together on the same day,” MOL Weh asserts.
“Personnel of CRSG and staff of the Ministry of Labor staff are monitoring the payment as the company wants to pay 200 of the workers on a specific date every day to complete the exercise, but the workers opposed to the exercise and attempted to flog us, disgrace us, but were rescued by officers of the PSU from the regional Hub,” Weh narrated.
The CRSG aggrieved workers, in 2022 filed a complaint with the government through Labor against CRSG’s alleged illegal dismissal and demanded salary arrears coupled with good working condition, among other things.
Speaking to this reporter via mobile phone, Weh assured that the exercise leading to the payment of the aggrieved workers will kick-off on November 4, 2024, at the same venue and time.
CRSG is among Chinese road building companies that built the road corridor that connects the border town of Loguatuo with the main Sanniquellie -Yekepa highway in Nimba County.
Despite the disruption of aggrieved worker’s payment in Karnplay, CRSG earth moving equipment are busy building the Saclepea – Tappita highway and have paved 30 kilometers of the road from Saclepea to the town of Kpatuo.
