The President Pro-tempore of the Liberian Senate, Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence has introduced a transformative development project to the community which comes as a relief to the Nekreen Statutory District in Grand Bassa County.
Senator Karnga-Lawrence, described by many as a champion for education and economic empowerment, brought together the people of Nekreen and the president of the Agape Empowerment Center (USA), Dave Vincent Schwartz, with the sole purpose of unveiling the very important partnership.
This partnership marks the beginning of a groundbreaking project which is the construction of a comprehensive education center, encompassing a high school and a technical and vocational skills training school.
The Agape Empowerment Center, inspired by Mr. Schwartz’s 2019 visit to Liberia, has been seeking a strategic location for their educational initiative.
Recognizing the need for quality education in the region, Senator Karnga-Lawrence proposed Nekreen as the ideal site.
In appreciation to the very important project, the community, embraced the opportunity to be selected amongst many other communities in the County and reciprocated the kindness with a donation 10 acres of land for the project.
The education center, estimated to cost between $10-$15 million USD, promises to be a beacon of opportunity for the youth of Grand Bassa County.
