The chairman of the Independent Council of Patriots or ICOP Rufus Nuefville is calling on the Liberian government and GSM companies in the country to reactivate the 3-day free calls promotion.
Speaking to newsman Wednesday in Monrovia, the ICOP chairman Nuefville said reactivating the 3-days free calls promotion is the surest way for all Liberians to benefit from the COVID-19 government of Liberia state of emergency stimulus package.
In February of 2019, the Weah led-government through the Liberia Telecommunication Authority (LTA) signed new price floor regulation to calls and data services provided by GSM companies in Liberia.
However, the new price floor regulation allegedly caused GSM companies in Liberia to cancelled the infamous 3-day free calls promotion after 8- years.
Nuefville added that unless the food distribution that will benefit certain people under the SOE, bringing back the 3-days free calls promotion will benefit everyone and increase government’s effort in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
