Sen. Moye Descends On Former VP Taylor Over Properties’ Issues In Bong
By Patrick Stephen Tokpah
A big division has entered Bong County politics, as Senator Prince Kermue Moye slammed former Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor over the claim that he (Moye) has built profits-making properties in Bong County.
Recently, former Vice President of Liberia, Jewel Howard Taylor, picked a bone with Bong County Senator Prince Moye, who was reportedly crowned by a few religious leaders as the “Political Godfather of the County.”
Former Vice President Taylor further conjectured that everything that Senator Moye has built in Bong County is profits making, unlike her (Taylor), everything she did over the years as Vice President and Senator was done to serve the people by providing scholarships, amongst other things.
Speaking on a local radio station in Gbarnga on April 5, 2025, Senator Moye criticized Howard-Taylor for failing to bring significant development to the county despite her long tenure.
The Bong County Senator alleges that the former Liberian Vice President has served the County for 26 years, but she doesn’t have a single place to sleep in the County.
“Jewel Howard-Taylor served this country as First Lady, 13 years as a Senator, and six years as Vice President. However, she does not have a place to sleep. Do you think she loves Bong County? Senator Moye asked.
He further alleged that Chief Dr. Taylor has failed to build a home in her native hometown of Sanoyea.
Moreover, Senator Moye alleged that the former Vice President forced the people of Sanoyea to name the only government-run High School in honor of her late Father’s “Kerkulah Giddings” something he described as failures and insensitive to the plights of development.
Senator Moye emphasized that the former Vice President is only good at divisive politics and undermining prominent sons and daughters who are significantly contributing to the development of Bong County.
“A few years back, former Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor was frightening the City Cooperation and Citizens for a street to be named after former President Charles Taylor in Gbarnga here but during her six years as Vice President, she failed to grade or pave that street to make it look decent since she was begging for us to remember the name of former President Taylor.”
Senator Moye expressed discontent with former Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor’s constant advocacy on grounds that she is paying students school fees on the Jewel Starfish Foundation, a local scholarship run by the former Vice President, stating that the foundation lacks an office space in the county and the fees she claims to have paid for students is not visible.
