A prominent son of Nimba County, Kadiker Rex Dahn is calling for an unwavering unity in Nimba County especially following the untimely demise of Senator Prince Y. Johnson, who was the revered political godfather of the county.
Dr. Dahn, former Deputy Minister of Education and former Deputy Director General at the Commission on Higher Education made a passionate plea in the wake of the pending April 22, 2025 senatorial by-election which is expected to see several prominent figures of the county in the race.
Currently based in the United States, Dr. Dahn, known for his unwavering commitment to education and development, is urging his fellow Nimbaians to move beyond divisive politics and seize the opportunity to elect a leader who prioritizes the well-being of the people over personal interests.
A renowned figure within the Unity Party, Dahn has expressed deep frustration with the recurring cycle of empty political promises that have and continue to plague Nimba’s leadership thereby dashing the hope of the common people.
“For too long, politicians have come to us with sweet campaign messages, only to turn their backs once they’re elected. The people of Nimba deserve better,” Dahn declared, emphasizing that Nimbaians must seek a new generation of leadership, one that is focused on addressing the real challenges faced by the electorate, particularly the widespread poverty that continues to affect the generality of the people.
Dahn challenged the county leadership to be guided by honesty, humility, passion, and selflessness which are traditional embodiment of qualities every leadership must possess.
“We have long awaited a leader who is truly interested in the people and who serves with integrity,” Dahn stated. “It’s time for a leader who is free from corruption, driven not by personal gain, but by a desire to uplift the majority of Nimbaians.”
He urged voters to make informed, thoughtful decisions in the upcoming elections.
“We cannot afford to elect leaders who will abandon the people once they hold power. Nimba needs leaders who remain committed to serving the people’s needs throughout their tenure,” he added.
Dahn also called on elders of Nimba to take an active role in guiding the political process, ensuring that it remains peaceful, fair, and orderly.
“Nimba’s strength has always been its unity. The wisdom of our elders is crucial in ensuring that this transition of leadership is handled with the utmost dignity and care,” he said.
He emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in choosing a leader who will preserve the county’s values and progress.
A strong proponent of education, Dahn underscored the need for the next senator of Nimba to prioritize educational opportunities for all of the county’s youth.
“Education is the key to Nimba’s future, and it must be accessible to every son and daughter, regardless of their ethnic background,” he insinuated while challenging the next senator to work tirelessly to ensure that educational opportunities are available to all thereby enabling the next generation to build a brighter future for themselves and Nimba as a whole.
The former Deputy Minister of Education and former Deputy Director General at the Commission on Higher Education asserts that the youth of Nimba must not be held back by selective access to quality learning—every child should be given the tools they need to succeed.
Dahn made a powerful plea to elected and appointed government officials, as well as ordinary citizens, to uphold the unity that has long defined Nimba County.
“We must honor the oneness entrusted to us by our forefathers,” he urged. “It is the responsibility of every Nimbaian to work together, maintain peace, and preserve the integrity of our community.”
Dahn’s clarion call for unity, integrity, and accountability resonates as an urgent reminder that the citizens of Nimba deserve leaders who are genuinely committed to the common good.
His commitment to positive change and his focus on integrity and unity serve as an inspiring example for all Nimbaians.
Further, his vision for the future is one where leadership is rooted in honesty, compassion, and a deep commitment to the welfare of the people.
Dahn says the time for complacency is over and Nimbaians must elect a leader who is dedicated to the people’s needs, and not one that’s merely driven by personal interests or political gain.
The future of Nimba, Dahn notes, depends on electing a leader who is willing to make the hard choices that will uplift all citizens, now and for generations to come.
