DSA Closing Gap On Fassell Atop

Discoveries Sports Academy (DSA)is having a tremendous debut season in the Liberia Football Association national first division league continuously putting a top fight to get to the top every match day.
DSA, the ‘Legacy Boys’ from the Gardnerville got promoted to the nation’s topflight at the end of the last football season among three teams that moved from the second division. Since the team got to the top league the demonstration of solid sportsmanship has been the order of their day.
Currently in the topflight, Discoveries are the ones jamming the table leader Fassell Football Club on points. The team, which is heavily represented by youngsters, is posing serious competition to their other counterparts, most of whom have played in the league for more than one season.
Seated in the second-best spot of the league log, the newcomers are one of the competition’s favorites according to records demonstrated by the Statistics under the competition department of Liberia football Association.
Closing the first phase of the current campaign with five points under the Soccer Missionaries at FC Fassell, DSA resumed the second face with a high momentum during their last two fixtures to chase the top spot.
They won against Shaita Football Club in a midweek fixture and drew with the current FA Cup champions Paynesville Football Club to leave a single point now standing between them and Fassell at the top of the league log.
A One-all draw in the opening round of the second phase of the league played at the TUSA Field in Gardnerville was good to increase smiles for DSA while the leader in the competition was tightly squeezed by bottom place old time team Mighty Barrolle.
Last Wednesday, the Legacy Boys again whipped Shaita Football Club 4-2 at the same match ground growing the enthusiasm of ending the league with a record of performing as one of the best teams.
With 15 matches completed now in the league, Discoveries have secured 30 points from nine straights wins and three lost.
FC Fassell still on the top of the table is seem to be facing a drop in performance since the start of the second phase take two defeats for the first time in a row since their reintroduction to competitive football during the start of the season.
Maintaining a long unbeaten run through the first phase, the Missionaries Boys are yet to calibrate to restore the winning mentality they open the 2024/25 league season with.
After 15 matches, they are currently 31 points atop with nine wins, three draws and two defeats. Their last defeat came in the midweek encounters against Paynesville FC that are also increasing approaches and techniques to raise the bar for this season at the top end of the current league table.
