There were shouting, crying and, weeping when health worker Ottis Mawolo pronounced the untimely death of 25-year-old Alvin Saye Dolo who was found hanging on a rope in Gompa.
The victim’s father, Wuo Dolo, explained that his son returned from church on Sunday and begged for forgiveness for disrespecting his father and the mother, Rose Dolo.
According to Dolo, the victim is the third born of his parent and a 2024 graduate of the government-owned John Wesley Pearson Senior High School in Gompa City.
“What I do know is my son used to take in drugs and drink alcoholic beverages and sometimes disrespect us in the house,” Dolo revealed.
“My son hanged himself in the store with his 12th graders uniform necktie. We found him hanging at about 6: 48 in the evening and reported the case to the police,” Dolo lamented.
In the yard and inside the building, the victim was seen hanging on the plank in the storeroom before bringing the remains outside under the watchful eyes of the 15-member jurors for an inspection.
Lemuel Bleemie, head of the jurors, disclosed that the man died by hanging and, no foul play was established.
When this paper contacted Ottis Mawolo, a health worker at the Boimah Clinic in Gompa, he confirmed Dolo’s death by hanging and further referred the paper to the team of police officers for further detail.
When contacted, the police confirmed that the victim committed suicide and investigations showed that there has been no foul play. The remains of the victim were turned over to the family for burial.
In a related development, a private security guard working with Nimba Guard Service has been found dead in Gompa.
The victim, Saturday Dahn, 45, died while on duty serving guard at the “Parks It Better Guest House” in Gompa on January 8, 2025.
According to Police investigations which corroborated with a 15-member juror, there was no foul play in the death of Saturday Dahn.
“There was no foul play on the body according to the 15 men jurors that examined the dead body,” the police reported.
“The man died sitting in the chair at about 3: 00 in the morning and the case was reported to the police. We realized that he died a normal death while serving guard and his body has been turned over to his family for burial,” the police concluded.
