Makasian Saryon, the rising star of Liberian women football, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to her Ravia Angels teammates after being named the Liberia’s Football Association Best Young Player of the Year in the female division. The talented forward, who netted an impressive 26 goals last season, credited her individual success to the collective effort and support of her team who is still pushing ways through to advance her career on and off the pitch.
“Individual awards are always a reflection of the team’s hard work,” Saryon said following the prestigious recognition. “If the team is doing well, individual players have the chance to earn awards. This prize is for everyone. Without my teammates, I would not have been able to score all those goals last season. It belongs to the whole group.”
The award was presented to Saryon during a match against Soccer Ambassadors, where she added a personal touch by scoring a brace in Ravia Angels’ 2-1 victory. With the two goals, Saryon has now scored 9 goals in the ongoing LFA Upper Women’s League.
The young forward also took a moment to honor the team where her football journey began, WOLOGISI Lioness Football Club. “Special thanks to WOLOGISI Lioness FC, the team where I first started playing football. Your dedication, hard work, and unwavering support have helped me grow as a player. This award is a testament to your effort, and I am truly honored to receive it.” Saryon’s achievement highlights not only her individual talent but also the collaborative spirit of the teams that have supported her development in Liberian football.
