By Linus Flomo
ArcelorMittal Liberia is spreading holiday cheers through a series of festive events and a major environmental cleanup initiative.
As part of its annual holiday traditions, the company launched a cleanup project aimed at enhancing the local environment across several key areas in its Buchanan concession.
The environmental initiative focuses on the Buchanan AML Hospital, workshop, project office, port operational area, major offices, fuel station, children’s playground, and residential areas.
This effort reflects the company’s commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment for both employees and the surrounding community.
AML staff and other employees have been actively engaged in this project, which is expected to have a lasting positive impact on the region.
The holiday festivities will kick off on Friday, December 13, with a year-end party for adults.
This celebration, which will take place at the AML Buchanan concession, will feature music, food, and merrymaking, bringing employees together to reflect on the year and celebrate the season.
On Saturday, December 14, the company will host a special Children’s Christmas party, where gifts will be distributed to the children of employees, as well as those from the surrounding community.
This annual event has become a cherished tradition, with excitement and joy filling the air as the young ones enjoy the festivities.
ArcelorMittal Liberia sees this as a custom of giving back to the community, especially during the holiday season. The exercise usually focuses on both an environmental improvement initiative and the festive events that bring relief to employees and their families.
The Christmas celebrations will not be limited to Buchanan. Similar events are also planned for the company’s Yekepa Concession in Nimba County, where employees and their families will also gather to enjoy the festive spirit.
In addition to these celebrations, the company has further brightened the season by adorning its facilities with colorful Christmas lights, creating a festive atmosphere for all to enjoy.
ArcelorMittal Liberia continues to prioritize the well-being of its employees and the broader community, and its holiday initiatives are just one example of its ongoing commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of those it serves.
