AFL Extends Clean City Campaign To Nimba

The Ministry of National Defense has embarked on a cleanup campaign at the old military barracks in Sanniquellie, Nimba county.
Speaking to the Inquirer, Sanniquellie Mayor, Zramein Zinor, disclosed that several buildings that were constructed at the barracks by some residents has been demolished by the order of the AFL officers in the county.
According to Mayor Zinor, Defense has returned to the county and has taken over the barracks in Sanniquellie for the smooth operations of the barracks in the county.
“Some people went and illegally constructed buildings at the barracks and are voluntarily demolishing the homes by the instructions of the Army,” Mayor Zinor asserts.
“We earlier advised them to stop building at the barracks, nobody listened to us; the army has arrived in the county and they are breaking down their houses,” Mayor Zinor disclosed.
The Sanniquellie Military Barracks were among AFL barracks that were in ruins since 1990 due to the civil crisis in the country.
Mayor Zinor further emphasized that officers of the AFL have taken over the two barracks and have embarked on a major cleaning of their facilities in the county.
