The Ministry of State, is set to launch the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs’ Scholarship and Financial Aid program to support students in their educational endeavors.
Speaking to the press, Deputy Minister for Administration at the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs, Cornelia Kruah, highlighted the program’s goal of furthering the president’s commitment to advancing youth education.
The initiative will provide university students with opportunities to pursue higher education while also contributing to their communities.
Deputy Minister Kruah emphasized that the program goes beyond academics, offering financial aid to underprivileged students facing financial barriers to education.
She revealed that the vetting process, which began months ago, garnered around 700 applications from various universities. Following a transparent selection process, 455 applicants were shortlisted.
Minister Kruah explained that successful applicants will be required to submit comprehensive project plans addressing issues within their communities and schools, as part of their commitment to give back. These plans will be presented ahead of the program’s official launch.
Additionally, students have been grouped into teams of ten to collaborate on potential projects aimed at mentoring others.
The Minister announced that a budget of US$150,000 has been allocated for the program’s initial phase.
She expressed her enthusiasm for the program and its community service components, hoping to sustain student engagement throughout.
