15 Get BON-PRO Scholarships In Sinoe

The Executive Director of the Bong Professionals Network (BON-PRO), Kweshie Tetteh, has offered 15 scholarships to students of Gbalawen Public School in Wacaba Statutory District, Electoral District 3, Sinoe County.
The Bong Professionals Network is a non-governmental professional organization organized by sons and daughters of the County with the same ideology of moving their County forward through programs and activities that will help contribute meaningfully to the development agenda of Bong County.
Mr. Tetteh said the 15 beneficiaries are poised to benefit from the entity’s full scholarships for three years.
The Bong Professionals Network Executive Director further revealed that he was touched to see schooling kids, especially in the 21st century, being out of school due to a lack of financial support.
He said the scholarships provided by his institution is/are a crucial step towards ensuring that every child in Liberia has access to quality education.
Mr. Tetteh, at the same time, encouraged every Liberian to support schooling kids who need education but whose parents cannot afford it.
“We can make a positive impact on the lives of schooling-going children in Liberia by helping them to realize their full potential. We need to break down the barriers to education and create a brighter future for the next generation,” Mr. Tetteh noted.
He further expressed sadness over the deplorable condition of the Gbalawen Elementary Public School in Wacaba Statutory District.
Mr. Tetteh assured the Administration of the Gbalawen Public School that he will lobby with the government of Liberia through education stakeholders and the Ministry of Education regarding the deplorable condition of the school.
Gbalawen Public School Principal, George Weesley lauded the Bong Professionals Network Executive Director for the scholarships provided.
He described the initiative as a new day for students of Gbalawen Elementary School in the County.
The Gbalawen Elementary School Principal revealed that the school has been facing serious challenges since its establishment in 2007, ranging from a lack of employed teachers, setting capacity, and the deplorable condition of the school building.
Mr. Weesley said they have engaged educational stakeholders in Sinoe County regarding the deplorable condition of the school but to no avail.
The Gbalawen Elementary School currently has six teachers, out of which three are on government payroll, while the rest are volunteers.
