The newly appointed Culture Ambassador, Kekura Balawala Kamara, is urging his predecessor, Julie Endee, not to allow politicians divide them.
During the Ministry of Information, Culture & Tourism’s (MICAT) regular press briefing on August 22, Ambassador Kamara called on Madam Endee to continue collaborating in their shared mission.
“To Ambassador Julie Endee and others involved in the cultural sector, Culture is our heritage and binds us together. We must continue walking this path together despite the divisiveness seen on social media,” he reckoned.
He continued, “As Liberians, we should stay united on this path. I extend an olive branch to Ambassador Julie and all other stakeholders.”
Ambassador Kamara emphasized the need for a collective effort and expressed his commitment to fostering a vibrant and unified cultural community in Liberia noting, “Thank you for this opportunity.”
He also outlined his vision for the future of the nation’s arts and culture sector.
The Ambassador announced his resignation from previous roles, including president of the Cultural Union of Liberia and Executive Director of Balawala, underscoring his commitment to serve all cultural organizations and societies equally.
“I am here for everyone,” he affirmed, stressing his role as a unifying figure in Liberia’s cultural landscape.
He added, “Malawala is only Liberia. I am the father of all cultural organizations, musicians, chefs, and collective societies in Liberia.”
Ambassador Kamara pledged to engage the public about President Joseph Boakai’s vision for promoting and developing Liberia’s cultural heritage declaring, “Today marks a new era for Liberia’s arts and culture.”
In a heartfelt call to unity, the Ambassador urged all stakeholders, including cultural figures and chefs, to support this new chapter.
