Liberian Gospel singer, Louise A. Kolaco, has launched a national song titled “The Flag of Liberia” ahead of the country’s 177th Independence Day celebration slated for this Friday, July 26, 2024.
Minister Kolaco, a member of the Christian Interdenominational Assemblies (CHRIDA), is also using the song to elevate and encourage Liberians about the importance of unity, peace and togetherness across the country.
The song, “The Flag of Liberia,” according to the gospel minister further aims to encourage Liberians to recognize God and embrace unity in spite of race, color and sphere as a people in commemoration of the nation 177th Independence Day.
Paying tribute to the national flag of Liberia, Minister Kolaco’s patriotism through her album is the first of its kind and had been making head waves on all major media platforms even before its launch on Sunday, July 21, 2024.
Kolaco, known for her uplifting and inspirational songs, at the Harvest Intercontinental Cathedral Church on Sunday, express hopes that the song will resonate with Liberians and instill a sense of national pride and unity.
However, the release of “The Flag of Liberia” comes at a time when the country is gearing up to celebrate its independence and honor its rich history and culture despite the many challenges still confronting the nation and its people.
In conversation with a local media, Minister Kolaco revealed that the song was recorded last year during the heated election period and intended to unite Liberians despite their political differences.
Commenting on the reason behind the recording of the song, Minister Kolaco revealed that she was inspired by God Almighty to create the music to inspire Liberians to build and preserve the country’s fragile peace and withhold unity in Liberia.
Meanwhile, Minister Kolaco began her musical career as a teenager in Ghana, and has already recorded five songs, with “The Flag of Liberia” being her latest release. A last of the song lyrics proclaimed that ‘Liberia will rise again.’
The gospel singer who went as a refugee at very tender age and experience the life on the most famous Buduburam Camp also highlighted the need for unity which is the foundation for national growth and development and as such, she hopes that the song, “The Flag of Liberia,” will effectively convey said message and encourage Liberians out patriotism.
She also called for support and unity among gospel musicians, urging pastors and the body of Christ to rally together and help promote the work of God through music lamenting how gospel musicians in Liberia encounter significant obstacles to success, including a lack of moral and financial support but urges them not to give up on their dreams despite the challenges they face daily.
Minister Kolaco then shared her personal experience, and emphasized that everything she has accomplished in her career has been through the help of her husband, who has provided financial backing for song recording, promotion, and video production.
She further disclosed of that to address this issue, all Liberians including gospel artists should now begin to promote and prioritize their artistic works, expressing her optimism that the community will support and uplift gospel musicians, recognizing their immense talent and the positive impact they can make on society.
