Man, 60, Commits Suicide In Nimba

A tragic incident has occurred in the Gbloryee Community around White Flower Motel after a man believed to be in 60s allegedly took his own life, leaving his family and community in shock and disbelief in Ganta, Nimba County.
The man, who is identified as Paye William Tokpah was found dead adjacent the motel still hanging on a rope around his neck during the early morning hours of Sunday, thereby leaving the entire community in total panic.
According to family sources, Tokpah took his life after being denied by his daughter to participate in her graduation celebration in Monrovia; something which led him to depart the scene in total frustration, apparently led to him taking away his life.
Neighbors and community members have all expressed their shock and sadness at the news of the Tokpah’s death, describing him as a quiet and reserved individual who kept to himself and always smiled with a sense of humor.
They recalled seeing him going about his daily routine, never suspecting that he was going through such a troubling time that would ultimately lead to such a tragic end as his family members were all devastated by the news, struggling to come to terms with the loss of their loved one.
They described him as a loving father and husband, who had always been there for them in times of need.
They expressed regrets that they had not been able to recognize the signs of his distress and offer him the support and help that he so desperately needed.
Meanwhile, as the community mourns the loss of one of its own, residents are left to struggle with the question of what could have been done to prevent such a tragedy as his death serves as a sobering reminder that all will depart this world one at a time.
Also, Tokpah’ death has further sent shockwaves through the community, prompting a renewed commitment to raising awareness against act that would lead to citizens committing suicide and providing support to those who are struggling as well as a tragic reminder of the importance of coming together as a community to support one another in times of need.
