Coach Kolongbo Joins Destiny Girls KC

As the transfer window continues in the Liberia Kickball Federation’s Margibi Sub-association, Coach Joseph Kolongbo has signed a one-season deal with Kakata-based kickball club, Destiny Girls KC, for an undisclosed fee.

Kolongbo, the former head coach of Zion Sisters KC, made his debut for Destiny Girls KC over the weekend during the opening fixtures of the new league season.

The games were held at the 14th Road Sports Pitch in Kakata on Saturday, June 1, where Kolongbo’s new team secured a dominant 7-1 victory over the newly formed War Girls KC, marking a strong start for Kolongbo and Destiny Girls KC.

However, the euphoria was short-lived as Destiny Girls KC faced a narrow 2-1 defeat at the hands of Future Girls KC in their second match on Sunday, June 2, at the open-air Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata, Margibi County.

This defeat was Kolongbo’s first with his new team and caused Destiny Girls KC to drop from first place in the league standings.

Coach Kolongbo remains optimistic about the season ahead and aims to guide Destiny Girls KC back to winning ways during the upcoming matches scheduled for June 8 – 9, which will take place in Weala, Margibi County.

The success of Kolongbo’s contract with Destiny Girls KC hinges on his ability to secure the championship for the team.

If he manages to lead Destiny Girls KC to victory, Kolongbo could see an extension of his tenure with the club, especially considering Zion Sisters KC’s current lack of interest in returning to the top-tier league of Liberia’s traditional sport of kickball in Margibi County.

Destiny Girls KC, once back-to-back champions, are hoping that under Kolongbo’s leadership, they will reclaim their position at the pinnacle of the league and add another title to their storied history.
