The belle forest boys yesterday came to the end of the road at the National County Sports Meet regrettably in Monrovia.

Gbarpolu County was resisted from hoping to get to the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex at the quarterfinal after they got defeated for the second time in two matches.

Grand Cape Mount County made a comeback into the competition with an early win over Gbarpolu in the first football match played at the Antionette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia.

In 12 minutes from the start time of the game between the two major rivals, Mohammed Fahnbulleh netted for Cape Mount to raise the curtain.

Fahnbulleh’s goal came from a long-range strike across about 26 meters away from goal to take the news of resurrection to his home in Robertsport.

In 53 minutes, Abraham Jackson confirmed the win for Cape Mount by converting a penalty awarded to them after and attacker was carelessly fouled in the penalty area.

Though Bomi defeated Cape Mount in the opening match, their revenge over Gbarpolu restored hope over qualification and their determination will be cleared on Saturday after their last preliminary match against the host of Group B.

The exit of Gbarpolu now set the qualification contention between Montserrado, Bomi and Grand Cape Mount Counties.

The host Montserrado and Bomi are at cutting edge advantage over Cape Mount. The two table leaders played to a one-all draw at the ATS yesterday evening.

Lawrence Kumeh was the first to score during the first half but his curtain raiser lasted for few minutes when Montserrado through Rubben Hney got a penalty early in the second half.

The one-all draw placed them square on points atop of group B with goal advantage placing Montserrado in a suitable position than Bomi.
