Weah Consoles China

President George Manneh Weah has sent a condolence message to Mr. Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China following the death of at least 118 persons and several others injured and missing as a result of the 6.2 magnitude earthquake.
The death and injury is due to a magnitude 6.2 earthquake which occurred on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, in Gansu and Qinghai Provinces of the People’s Republic of China.
According to a Foreign Ministry release, President George Manneh Weah, on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia, and in his own name, extended heartfelt condolences to President Jinping and in particular, the bereaved family for the irreparable loss sustained.
The Liberian leader then prayed that President Jinping and the resilient people of China will find comfort, fortitude and endurance during this difficult period of mourning and wish the injured people a speedy recovery.
Hyderabad: The 6.2 magnitude earthquake has struck northwest China, causing significant damage and loss of life.
The earthquake, which occurred in the remote and mountainous area of Gansu province, has left at least 111 people dead and more than 200 injured, according to state media reports.
