The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of one of Liberia’s premier micro-finance loan institutions, known as the Bukonjadeh Group of Companies, Elton Datee Johns, says his entity and staff are deeply saddened by the horrifying and untimely incident which occurred on Monday night, November 20, 2023, which resulted in the demise of innocent citizens within the proximity of the Unity Party (UP) headquarters on Broad Street.
Johns, on behalf of his company, told reporters on Tuesday that this terrible catastrophe has not only struck the families and relatives of those who have died from the incident, but the entire country, which could be equated to terrorism; as such, it must be categorically condemned by meaningful Liberians from all walks of life.
Johns, in a tearful mood, called on all Liberians to unequivocally condemn the inhumane, evil, and devilish act that led to the deaths of these innocent citizens.
He maintained further that if there are alleged perpetrators of this callous act, they must be arrested, charged, and sent to court for prosecution by the Ministry of Justice.
The Bukonjadeh CEO said this very incident has the propensity to drive away investors and discourage embassies accredited to Liberia.
He also congratulated President George Manneh Weah for mustering a high degree of courage and maturity by conceding defeat, in the interest of all Liberians and the country as a whole.
As he put it, Liberia is now on a peaceful trajectory after the 2023 elections, and at the same time, says bravo to the President-elect, Amb. Joseph Nyuma Boakai, including the newly elected members of the 55th National Legislature.
