The Coalition For Democratic Change (CDC)has reassured Liberians that after 12 years in government, there will be more tangible developments across the country.
Speaking during a visit to Bong County, the Liberian leader rallied citizens to join him to continue on the path of development.
“Today, I join you to empower the younger generation; this is our time,” he told residents of Bong County.
According to him, he and his vice standard bearer, Jewel Howard Taylor, are the right choice and the best leaders to transform Liberia.
“We are on the right trajectory and we all must stand on the course,” adding that after his twelve years in government, there will be more tangible developments across Liberia.
He bragged that he was born to succeed and a true gift to his people, and will do all in his power to improve their livelihood.
The CDC Standard Bearer maintained that he has done all and there is no difference the opposition will make for his people.
“Give me the remaining six years let me finish what I have started,” he urged his people.
The Ruling Party Flag Bearer used the occasion to rally the support of the people of Bong County, to ensure that they give him a first round victory.
“Vote one, vote all, vote for me as your President, Jewel as your Vice President, Edward Karfiah as your Senator, and William Thompson as your Representative for Electoral District 6 , Bong County,” he appealed.
Weah stressed that he was surprised when his main opposition, Joseph Boakai, stated that he will rebuild the Redemption Hospital, including the provision of medicine.
“The hospital which you did not build in twelve years is what you want to build now? I think something is happening to old man Boakai; he is not an honest man,” Weah added.
Speaking further, he pointed out that he is now developing Boakai’s Lofa County, which he did not build when he was vice president for twelve years, including serving in public offices for over three decades.
Weah at the same time challenged the opposition to turn over Senator Prince Johnson to the War Crimes Court.
According to him, the opposition claimed that he, George Weah, was protecting Senator Johnson when he was supporting the CDC, but now that he has joined ranks with the opposition, they should now do the needful of what they have been advocating for over the years.
“We need to be serious and we need to put our country first and be honest to our people,” he blasted.
Meanwhile, the people of Bong County pledged their overwhelming support to the one round victory of President Weah.
They emphasized that they can’t be ungrateful to the tangible realities of the good developments ongoing in their district, county, and country in general; as such, his re-election bid is a must.
“We will unlock every door and campaign robustly in order to give President Weah his second term mandate,” the people of Bong, through a statement read eloquently by a representative of the first time voters in Salala District, further indicated.
