Kickball in Margibi County experienced huge support over the weekend by fans visiting the festival center to celebrate athletes around the community that dedicate time and passion to kickball.
It was a huge turn out on Saturday May 27, 2023 at the Dolo’s Town Sports Pitch in lower Margibi County when competitive kickball actions thrilled hundreds of spectators in the quest for the championship of the Liberia Kickball Federation, Margibi’s Sub-association.
The pitch, before the eyes of community residents hosted one of its own Zion Sisters Kickball Club collecting its first win at home in this season of the league which came against Quincy Kickball Club.
Zion Sisters got a 2-0 home run over Kakata-based club Quincy KC to earn all three points.
Both teams played to a goalless home run at half-time after both pitchers, Princess Winnie of Zion Sisters and Promise Leital of Quincy KC, became very instrumental in executing their duties.
It was Ruth Membah and Christal Saah who broke the deadlock in the fifth inning to secure a 2-0 home run over Quincy KC.
The win earned by Zion Sisters marks the club’s first win at home and third win of the new season.
Zion Sisters KC sits in third place on the league table with 9 points from 4 games winning 3 and taking a single defeat.
Zion Sisters suffers the first hand defeat on the opening day of the league season on May 6, 2023 at the opened-air Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata where Destiny Girls Kickball Club took supremacy of the day one encounter.
The club in return took her first win of the league season on May 13, 2023 in Bong Mines defeating Weah Professional Kickball Club. Zion got the second win at the same venue on May 14, 2023 against Vision Sisters Kickball Club.
Zion Sisters have two remaining games to feature to climax the first phase.
