A WhatsApp message believed to be from Aloysius Howe, the Special Assistant to Finance Minister Samuel Tweah, suggested to the Coalition for Democratic (CDC) to falsely implicate the Unity Party in the attack on Senator Prince Johnson’ Church has gone viral on social media.
On Sunday, a group claiming to be the youth wing of the National Patriotic Party (NPP) stormed the Christ Chapel of Faith Church of Senator Prince Y. Johnson and disrupted normal activities.
The “NPP Youth Wing’, dressed in their NPP and CDC regalia, holding banners and placards and chanting anti-PYJ slogans, stormed the Church’s compound and their action prematurely ended the normal worship service and left Senator Johnson and his wife stranded for sometimes before exiting the premises.
According to the group, they had gathered to protest against Senator Johnson’s “planned outburst against Vice President Taylor, as well as his continued misuse of the pulpit to denigrate President Weah and his officials.”
The group explained that gone are those days that the Nimba County Senator would use the church pulpit to spew insults against the CDC led-government and its officials in the name of preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The NPP group added, “Enough is enough and we as supporters of this regime will ensure that the church pulpit will not be used as a platform to attack our leaders anymore. In fact, we will visit his church every Sunday until he resigns as pastor of the church for a real true man of God to take over.”
But responding to the attack during a press conference at his residence in Paynesville, Nimba County Senator Prince Johnson announced his planned to respond to Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor’s outburst against him but will deploy 5,000 men for protection.
However, in addition to the action from the NPP Youth league, Aloysius Howe, in a message posted in one of the pro-CDC chartrooms called on the party to hold a press conference to deny the CDC’s involvement in the disruption and to instead incriminate the Unity Party of former Vice President Joseph Boakai.
The message reads: “The party need to have a press conference and accuse the Unity Party of masterminding what happened today at PYJ church; accuse them of being the ones who placed people in CDC paraphernalia to create chaos and make it appear like it is CDC who sent them.”
Another CDcians, Brooks Botoe in response agreed with Howe’s sinister plan by typing, “Perfect Chairman.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Howe is yet to respond or comment on the whatApps message but it has been established by the Inquirer Newspaper that the number used to send the message is his personal-private number.
But, following the incident, the CDC, through its Chairperson, Mulbah Morlu issued a statement distancing itself from the incident.
