Suspect Francis Fayiah At South Beach

The Monrovia City Court sent suspect Francis S. Fayiah to prison at the South Beach for allegedly stealing over US$1,000 from the MANO Company since last year July and absconded the country.

He was arrested in Ghana early this week while crossing to Ivory Coast and was charged with the crimes Theft of Property, Criminal Conspiracy and Misapplication of Entrusted Property in  In violation of Chapter 15 Sub chapter “D” Section 15. 51, Chapter 10 Section 10.4 and Chapter 15.56

On July 18, 2022, Mano Manufacturing Company through its Administrative Manager,

Montgomery Wolo reported to the Crime Services Department of the Liberia National Police that defendant Fayiah, its salesperson did receive goods valued at US$106, 427, 00 which were to be delivered to customers and after collecting the amount instead of reporting the proceeds to the management fled the country.

According to the complaint, defendant Fayiah and his accomplices who are still at large converted the money into their own use while defendant Fayiah ran Ghana where he was arrested by the Ghanaian Interpol on May 10 and brought to Liberia for further investigation.

The police charge sheet revealed that during the investigation, defendant Fayiah admitted to the allegation levied against him in the presence of his legal counsel and when the case was called for hearing, prosecution requested for continuance so as to enable the defendant be represented by his legal counsel and thereafter prayed the court to ensure that the defendant have a valid bond consistent with the gravity associate with the alleged charge as failure on his part, he will be detained at a common jail.

The court granted the request of the state and the matter was adjourned to be resumed as such time when the defendant will be fully represented by a lawyer of his choice as he has intimated to this court.

“The clerk of this court is hereby ordered to prepare the necessary precept place same in the hands of the sheriff of this court to have the defendant incarcerated at the Monrovia central prison pending the filing of the bail,” the court ordered.
