Simeon Freeman Extends Loan Scheme To G/Bassa

Buchanan City Grand Bassa County was a place of joy as over 500 women in the city turned out in their numbers to attend a ceremony intended to announce a launching of a loan scheme in the county by the political leader of the MPC, Simeon Freeman.
The loan launch is expected to cover over 400 underprivileged and business women and
improve their businesses among others in the county.
Freeman, however expressed commitment in bettering the business climate of Grand Bassa County as he extends his loan scheme program in the county.
Recently the MPC political leader launched the loan scheme for business women within the Peace Island community and its environs before moving to Grand Bassa.
The L$4 million interest free loan scheme is intended to empower business women who are struggling to improve their businesses and performing individuals are expected to be given more money above the set threshold.
Freeman said the bad handling of the economy in Liberia by leaders in charge has led to the continued suffering of the Liberian business community.
The loan that is expected to be distributed among mainly businesswomen and financial saving clubs otherwise known as susu clubs in Liberia to enable beneficiaries to be more independence in the business sector.
Informing the public about the scheme in Buchanan City over the weekend, the youth Chairperson of the MPC, James Freeman said the MPC political leader will continue to support development in the county.
“Most of these women benefiting from the loan are single mothers, and our political leader Simeon Freeman is very passionate to alleviate the people from poverty,” he stated.
He explained that the launch of the loan is a stepping stone for women in that part of the country, saying, “our political leader has been on giving money to people as loan around the country starting with Montserrado County, He has been giving money out for the past 4years.”
James thanked the people of Bassa for turning out in their numbers and said in subsequent time Mr. Freeman himself will appear in the county to speak to the people.
One of the expected beneficiary communities, Gunnigar Town Community thanked Freeman and his MPC for the loan.
Speaking on behalf of her colleagues, Madam Martha Kennedy, 65, joyfully praised the MPC family for the news of the loan and said Grand Bassa County is one of the right places to help because according to her, there is where Mr. Freeman’s mother lives.
“We are not ungrateful, we will pledge our support for him and campaign for him because our son Simeon Freeman has been helping us in the county, he built and opened all our roads that were closed,” she recalled.
Josephine Garjay is another lady from Buchanan that attended the program and called on Simeon Freeman to not listen to those she described as failed politicians in Grand Bassa County noting, “We don’t know how to thank Simeon Freeman for his good work in Buchanan as he is helping us.”
“They have been around in the county for long and we not benefiting anything good from them besides bringing each other down in the name of politics, unlike Simeon who has deemed it necessary for the common people to benefit,” Amos Barcon, a youth at the program noted.
