NSA Officer Commits Suicide In Nimba

National Security Agency (NSA) Officer Mazola Karney, 63, is believed to have committed suicide in Ganta, Nimba County.
The suicide news of the top state security officer is creating panic and concern among the residents in Ganta as witnesses discovered the officer dead hanging on a long rope with blue short jeans opposite the Rainbow Covenant Senior High School campus on January 13, 2023.
Report gathered by this paper disclosed that the deceased was a plain-clothes national security Commander at the main border in Ganta and that over the weekend at the border, members of the joint security expressed great sorrow to the bereaved family
During a normal routine at the Ganta main border on Saturday January 14, 2023, the LRA sub office that is hosting the offices of the joint security was closed up to press time.
When this paper contacted the LNP station in Ganta, he confirmed that the officer did commit suicide.
The Liberia National Police explained that the preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased had abandoned his wife and was living in another location because of a commotion they encountered prior to his death.
The LNP explained that the deceased was undergoing three months suspension period from his office for misconduct prior to his death.
According to the LNP, a 15-member jury’s report to LNP revealed no foul play on the body and that the body has been turned over to the family for burial.
