Normal academic activities at the Harbel College in Margibi County have been grounded since Monday as faculty and administrative staff dropped their tools demanding improved conditions on campus.
The faculty’s head, Tuan Saytue Sneh, told the media that until their requests are responded to which include vehicles, equipped laboratory and library, teachers’ lunch, electricity but most importantly, the delay in salary payment.
He said once there are no vehicles to transport employees to work, no electricity on the college’s campus, no equip laboratory or library for the students, and improvement in the receipt of their monthly salary which continues to affect them they will not work.
When the college was reached for comment, the comptroller said he was not authorized to speak to the media on the subject matter.
However, the president of the college shall respond to the teachers’ demand when appearing on the local media today in Monrovia.
Meanwhile, there are reports that the students have planned to be in solidarity with their lecturers because since Monday, they have not been seen on campus neither in classes.
