SEGAL Graduates Many

Graduates of the Security Expert Guard Agency of Liberia (SEGAL) have been assured that Liberians and international partners that Liberia was now ready to take on the security sector of the country.
Speaking at the Farmington Hotel in Margibi County over the weekend where officers of SEGAL, graduated after a successful completion of the Aviation Security Basic AVSEC STP 123 Course, Nuah Padmore said it was time for Liberian entrepreneurs become trusted.
Serving as proxy for the Liberia Aviation Authority boss, Emmanuel Nuquay, the guest speaker called on the management of the Roberts International Airport (RIA) to prioritize the services of the graduates instead of hiring foreigners or other companies who may not have the basic skills and level of advance training as those who have been trained locally.
He said the course was offered with International standards which was the first of its kind in Liberia and as such, those officers who completed the course must be trusted and given the opportunity to provide a professional and effective security service.
Padmore, who is the focal person and the Security Manager at the Liberia Aviation Authority, wants government to seriously look into hiring the services of the newly certificated officers of SEGAL who just completed special security courses in Aviation.
He assured the graduates and management of SEGAL to see themselves as champions and as such the prospects of winning bigger contracts is a must.
Padmore furthered stated that as government contemplates on opening the newly constructed terminal at the Roberts International Airport, SEGAL stands a better chance of winning a bigger contract.
The dux of the class, George N. Doweh Sr., called on the government and foreign businesses in the country to prioritize the private sector and that the demand for professional security services is becoming high therefore, the government and its foreign partners need to trust them.
According to him, there cannot be an effective and secured nation when the private sector is downplay adding that investing in the private sector also provides jobs and empowers the nation.
A partner and Board member of SEGAL, Lionel A. Keller II, wants the graduates to see themselves as professions pointing out, “For too long, Liberians have been denied the opportunity to take on the mantle of authorities.”
Meanwhile, the CEO and General Manager of SEGAL, Momo Cyrus, has called on government to provide firearms to private security firms because according to him by doing so, it will ease the burdens of over spending on security.
The SEGAL boss further called on government to also focus on the state, instead of allowing its officers through the Liberia National Police (LNP) to serve private entities thereby frowning at most of the private entities in the country for having national police as security while the private entities are left alone to struggle in search for contracts.
He said allowing private companies who are ready to take these contracts enable them employ more Liberians and reduce some of the huge burdens that the government carries.
The SEGAL Boss and his partner Mr. Lionel A. Keller II made a donated cash presentation to a female student, Reginald L. Blamo, who graduated with honors plus a full year scholarship to attend any university of her choice.
Ms. Blamo who has been yearning to further her education in the aviation sector was overwhelmed on Friday when her dream came to fruition upon receiving the full scholarship and added, “This is a dream comes true. I have been wishing to study aviation and this had been my dream. I am grateful to Mr. Cyrus and the SEGAL family for the opportunity.”
Officer Dave S. Freeman too was awarded a cash price for his outstanding performance which had boost the entity to win lots of contracts, plus full year scholarship at Master’s level.
Officer Myer F. Brown won for himself a cash price as well, while SEGAL Administrative Manager, Marcus N.D. Kumeh I, also shared a cash price plus a full International scholarship to South Africa.
Some of the services rendered by SEGAL were, Security Escort Services, Special Event Security, and Corporate Security Services; Private Investigation, Private Security, Bank Protection, Industrial/Mining Security, Aviation/Marine Security and Electronic Security Solutions.
The Security Manager of Arcelor Mittal Carlos Railey called on the graduates to foster their efforts aimed at providing professional and quality services to the public.
