Public Hearing On Recast
Budget Today At Senate

The Liberian Senate will today, July 18, conduct public hearing on the recast budget.
The Senate which will form a committee of a whole will to conduct the public hearing before its concurrence today in plenary.
Authorities of the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning and the Liberia Revenue Authorities are expected to appear.
Key among questions being projected by members of the Senate include and not limited to, the allotments of US$30, 000,000 to HPX, US$ 875,000 for only Monrovia City Corporation, US$ 14,000,000 to Liberia Electricity Corporation and US$ 11,000,000 to rice subsidy among others will be highlighted at the public hearing.
Recently, the House of Representatives was slammed due to its decision not to debate the draft restated budget for public consumption before passage.
The action by the House is said to have hitched the smooth passage of the recast budget due to a motion of reconsideration that was filed by a member of that august body then.
