Bong County, the 3rd Division defending champions Totota United Sports Association (TUSA FC) has reportedly boycotted ongoing league games for the second time in the county.
According to sources who hinted this paper, TUSA refused to honor a fixture in the campaign making them the only side who has not play any game.
Our sources revealed that on Wednesday, 22 February 2023, the reigning champions did not turn up for a match against newly-promoted Phebe Athletic FC at David Kuyon Sport Pitch.
The match which should have commenced at 4pm saw Phebe boys dressed in their new kits to take on the holders but no player or technical staff of the lower Bong club was present at the stadium.
This is the second time after the Totota Boys declined to show up for the LFA Sub-association’s opening match with Brave Warriors FC on 4 February 2023.
According to LFA Bong Sub-association Secretary General, John Snawulu, decisions are being considered to come up with an appropriate measure relating to TUSA’s refusal to honor two games this season.
Last year, TUSA finished top of the 3rd Division League table as champions but has not since been crowned with medals and trophy which made them to reject L$70,000.00 as cash prize.
It’s something many sports followers in the county believed to be the cause of the 2021/2022 champions not showing up for their games at the moment.
Meanwhile, all efforts put forth to ascertain from Coach Joseph Carter of TUSA have been yielded fruitless.
