The Liberia National Office of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) will officially kick off the 2025 national exams for school candidates on Monday, April 28, 2025.
The examination’s cycle will begin with the Liberia Junior High School Certificate Examination (LJHSCE), scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, April 28–29. A total of 53,562 ninth graders from junior high schools nationwide are expected to sit the exams at 396 designated centers.
Following this, the Liberia Primary School Certificate Examination (LPSCE) will be administered to 47,008 sixth graders across 397 centers on Wednesday and Thursday, April 30 and May 1.
On Friday, May 2, the Liberia National Assessment Test (LNAT) will be given to 35,002 third graders, who will take the test on their respective school campuses.
The West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) will commence on Thursday, May 15, and run through Tuesday, June 10.
A total of 53,140 twelfth graders are expected to sit for the exam at 377 centers across the country.
In anticipation of the exam period, WAEC Liberia’s Head of National Office, Dale G. Gbotoe, has cautioned students and school authorities against engaging in examination malpractice.
He emphasized that WAEC, in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice, is prepared to take firm action against anyone found culpable.
Gbotoe also appealed to the Ministry of Education and other education stakeholders to support efforts to prevent exam fraud, not only during the upcoming tests but in all future assessments.
