By Precious D. Freeman
The political leader of the Liberia National Union (LINU), Clarence Moniba, has called for the immediate resignation of President George Weah.
He cited his major reason as President Weah’s alleged failure to provide a sustainable livelihood for all Liberians.
Addressing the press yesterday, aspirant Moniba criticized the President saying that he was unprepared and not capable for the job that he is handling.
Aspirant Moniba also accused President Weah of neglecting his responsibilities to the Liberian people and failing to implement policies that would improve the standard of livings.
According to him, the country is experiencing a significant economic downturn with high unemployment rates, inflation, and rising poverty levels yet, the government have not taken any concrete step to address those issues.
“President Weah is unprepared for the job. He has failed to provide sustainable livelihoods for all Liberians and it is time for him to resign,” Dr. Moniba stated.
The Presidential hopeful further called on all Liberians to demand accountability from their leaders and hold them responsible for their actions or inactions.
He emphasized the need for the government to prioritize the welfare of the people and work towards the country’s economic recovery.
“The call for President Weah’s resignation comes amid growing frustration and dissatisfaction with his administration’s handling of the country’s affairs” he said.
He noted that many Liberians have expressed concerns about the government’s failure to address pressing issues such as corruption, insecurity, and poor infrastructure.
