The Monrovia Business School has ended three days of Digital Security awareness training for over 15 government security personnel to adequately prepare law enforcement actors on digital security.
The three-day training brought together security personnel from five public security entities, including the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), Liberia National Fire Service (LNFS), Liberia National Commission on Arms (LNCA), Monrovia City Police and the Ministry of Justice.
Organized by the Monrovia Business School, the three days intensive training also provided debt knowledge on practical skills and fundamentals about digital security skills, risk assessment, data threats and mitigation strategies, among others.
The Participants further gained knowledge and skills in digital security networking and cyber threats, as well as training on how to promote cultural digital resilience skills, ensuring a safer environment for all Liberians.
Speaking at the close of the training, the acting board chair of the Monrovia Business School, Lasana Kromah, said digital security awareness is the global hallmark today for all countries, with Liberia being no exception.
He informed the participants that the world is now migrating very fast digitally. As such, it is key that the security professionals of Liberia be ready and prepared to move along, especially in building their capacity to combat these threats.
Kromah also encouraged the first batch of participants of the training to serve as ambassadors and make the necessary changes and differences that the world is looking for, and urged, “Be innovative, see the growth coming and move along. If not, you will remain behind.”
He further narrated that the three days of intensive training serve as a career enhancement and thereby encouraged participants to see it as a building block for them to advance themselves further.
In response, participants vowed to fully implement the knowledge acquired during the three-day training and promised to help strengthen cyber and other security awareness as true ambassadors for the benefit of the sector and the country in general.
