President George Manneh Weah is expected to officially dedicate the much-talked about 14 Military Hospital on February 11, 2020 Armed Forces Day in Liberia.
The completion and dedication of the 14-Military Hospital is in fulfillment of promise made by the Commander-In- Chief of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) when he addressed the army following his inauguration on January 22, 2018 as President of the Republic of Liberia.
Assistant Minister for Press and Public Affairs, Sam Collins, made the disclosure during a ceremony marking ‘One Day Media Security Dialogue’ forum under the banner “Issues And Challenges Regarding Media Coverage of Security and Justice Institutions” held at the YMCA conference hall Thursday.
Minister Collins said contrary to speculations that the 14 Military Hospital is far from completion, the Hospital which he said is the heartbeat of President George Weah will be officially dedicated to the gallant men and women of the Armed Force of Liberia on Valentine Day to be used.
According to Mr. Collins, contractors are now carrying on their finishing touches on the Hospital for the next program.
Mr. Collins described the Military Hospital as up-to-date, well-equipped with medical equipment and coupled with advanced medications to cater to the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Liberia as well as their relatives and Liberians in the proximity of the Hospital.
Meanwhile, he said this year’s Armed Forces Day will focus on creating awareness for women to be recruited in the army. The former police spokesman said, the army’s pending recruit will focus on recruiting more women into the army.
