Tension Breeds At Bassa, Nimba Boundary -Superintendent Alarms

Tension is reportedly breeding between residents of District 9 in Yarwinmanson in Nimba County and residents of District 3 in Grand Bassa County over a man who was discovered dead along the boundary belt between Nimba and Bassa.
Superintendent David Jacob said residents of Yarwinmanson are currently living in fear as residents of District 3 in Grand Bassa have set up road blocks leading to the side of Nimba and are preventing people commuting from that side of the boundary from entering into Grand Bassa County.
According to Superintendent Jacob, the dead man who was said to have been a resident of Duogarpa Town along the boundary between Nimba and Grand Bassa was discovered with his neck and hands broken and that those residing along the boundary on Nimba side are pointing accusing fingers at those residing along the boundary belt in District 3 in Grand Bassa of being behind the death of the young man.
The Statutory Superintendent who identified the deceased as George Sobee was found dead in his village near explained that he was a resident of Duogarpa Town who usually travels to Grand Bassa to visit friends.
Superintendent David stated that it was just few days after his death that some residents of Grand Bassa complained to him (David) that the deceased desists from making farm in their district in Grand Bassa County.
Duogarpa Town is situated along Nimba and Grand Bassa borderline where people living in Nimba usually go to carry out gold mining business while those from Grand Bassa pass through District 3 using Bong and Nimba Counties to attend Zoewenta market day on Saturday in each week.
The Nimba County Statutory Superintendent has warned residents within his control not to enter Grand Bassa as the residents of Grand Bassa who blocked the road have allegedly threatened to attack anybody from Nimba side using Yarwinmanson District.
In a related development, Superintendent Jacob has also revealed that the OIC working with Ministry of Health in Ganta and is on assignment in District 3 in Grand Bassa has closed down that government clinic and escaped to Nimba for fear of being killed.
The Nimba Yarwinmanson Statutory Superintendent explained that residents of Grand Bassa have also accused residents of Nimba of burning down huts full of country rice on their farms and cutting down their crops.
Meanwhile, Jacob told this paper he has informed Representative Johnson Gwaikolo about the incident and it is expected that he contact lawmakers of Grand Bassa County before the situation gets off hands.
He added that his office has instructed the commissioner of the district to appeal to the youths to remain calm as the situation will be put under control.
