“Remain Steadfast In Upholding Rule Of Law” -Chief Justice Admonishes Judicial Actors

Her Honor Sie-A-Nyene Gyapay Yuoh, the outgoing Chief Justice in Liberia, has urged judges and magistrates from Bong, Nimba, and Lofa counties to remain firm in upholding the rule of law and performing their legal duties with the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in Liberia.
The Chief Justice of Liberia is the head of the judicial branch of the Government of the Republic of Liberia and the chief judge of the Supreme Court of Liberia.
Chief Justice Yuoh’s address highlighted the crucial role that the judiciary plays in maintaining public trust and ensuring access to justice for all Liberians.
She urged magistrates and judges to avoid undue influence and to administer justice fairly and impartially, without fear or favor.
The Chief Justice stressed the importance of continuing legal education and capacity-building for judicial actors, emphasizing the importance of an informed and principled judiciary for the protection of citizens’ rights and the promotion of good governance.
According to the Chief Justice, this initiative by the Supreme Court aims to enhance judicial accountability and improve justice delivery in all of Liberia’s counties.
The event’s attendees expressed gratitude for the Chief Justice’s leadership and made a commitment to uphold the principles she advocated for during her time in office.
The forum convened judicial officers from Bong, Nimba, and Lofa counties to address the challenges and responsibilities facing the judiciary in the context of ongoing efforts to enhance the justice system. The judicial engagement was held at the 9th Judicial Circuit Court in Gbarnga, Bong County, where Chief Justice Yuoh made the statement on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.
