Minister Jallah Extols 53,000 12th Graders On WASSCE Completion

Education Minister Jarso M. Jallah has congratulated over 53,000 12th graders who have successfully completed the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE), describing the completion as a significant milestone in their academic journey.

Minister Jallah also highlighted that the successful completion of this year’s exam, serves as a gateway to higher education and future career opportunities for all students who sat the test across the country.

The Minister’s message comes as thousands of Liberian students conclude the WASSCE, a key academic benchmark in West Africa that determines eligibility for further education and career opportunities.

In her congratulatory message issued, Minister Jallah emphasized the importance of this achievement, stating, “Completing the WASSCE is not just an academic milestone; it is a stepping stone towards your future.”

Praising the students of 2025 for demonstrating discipline, courage, and commitment throughout their high school years, culminating in the final exam, the Minister maintained, “You have demonstrated perseverance and dedication, and today, we celebrate your success.”

“From the start of senior high school to your final exam, you overcame challenges and persevered with purpose, upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and personal responsibility.

So, I encourage all of you (students) to carry the values of commitment, purpose, excellence, and hard work into the next phase of your lives, whether in higher education, vocational training, or professional pursuits,” she admonished.

Dr. Jallah further emphasized that Liberia is looking to its youth to become visionary, innovative leaders of tomorrow, and urged, “Keep rising. Keep shining. Keep building Liberia, with purpose and without prejudice.”

She also praised the students for their determination to overcome the obstacles of life, urging them to continue striving for excellence in their future endeavors, and noted, “Your journey does not end here.”

“As you prepare to transition into higher education or the workforce, remember that the skills and knowledge you have acquired will serve as the foundation for your future. Embrace the opportunities that lie ahead, and never stop learning,” Jallah continued.

She then acknowledged the efforts of teachers, parents, and the broader community in supporting the students throughout their educational journey, with a call for continuous collaboration among all stakeholders to ensure that the education system in Liberia remains robust and capable of meeting the needs of its youth.

Meanwhile, Minister Jallah also reassured the students that the government is committed to providing them with the necessary resources and support to pursue their academic and career aspirations.

She then encouraged the students to remain focused and resilient, reminding them that their education is a powerful tool that can transform not only their lives but also the future of Liberia, and added, “You are the leaders of tomorrow. Go forth and make your mark on the world.”
