The Margibi County Bar Association has officially inducted its new officials in Kakata, Margibi County marking the resolution of past internal challenges and the county bar’s renewed participation in the national legal community.
The induction ceremony was performed by the Secretary General of the Liberia National Bar Association (LNBA) Cllr. Elisha T.J. Forkeyoh during the opening of the May A.D. 2025 Term of the 13th Judicial Circuit Court on Monday.
Those inducted included Thomas Preston Bombo, president; Atty. Fomba Swaray, Vice president; Atty. Abraham F. Tengbeh, Secretary and Atty. Beevaye Myers Mortee, Treasurer respectively.
Speaking on behalf of LNBA’s National president Bornor Varmah, Secretary General Elisha Forkeyoh underscored the significance of the event as a fresh start for Margibi’s Bar.
He emphasized that unity among lawyers is essential for justice to prevail and urged the new leadership and members to embrace the LNBA’s Legal Aid Clinic as a vital resource for providing legal assistance to underserved communities in Margibi County.
Cllr. Forkeyoh called on each lawyer to take on at least one pro bono case, highlighting the profound impact such service can have on individuals and society.
He also pledged the national office’s support to strengthen the county bar’s presence and outreach, encouraging collaboration to secure dedicated space and expand legal aid services across the region.
Cllr. Forkeyoh reminded the officials that their role is a noble trust not only from their peers but from the people relying on justice.
In his acceptance speech, the newly inducted Margibi County Bar Association president Bombo, expressed gratitude for the confidence placed in him and acknowledged the professional handling of the leadership crisis by the LNBA.
He committed to leading with integrity, transparency, and open communication, promising to uphold the highest ethical standards and foster a stronger, more cohesive bar that advances justice and the rule of law in Liberia.
