The Liberia National Police has charged one Augustine Gaye with murder and sent him to court for prosecution .
Speaking to the Inquirer, an officer of the Crime Services Department (CSD) explained that during the middle of May 2025 , a Burkinabe national, Barlou Adbwayee, aged 22 year was found dead in Kparblee forest in Nimba .
According to CSD investigators , police preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was allegedly shot with a single barreled gun in the forest.
“Police preliminary investigation links Augustine Gaye , as prime suspect who allegedly shot the victim with a single barreled gun while working on the farm in the forest, ” CSD investigators stated .
“Police arrested six suspects, five of whom were released. Suspect Gaye was charged with murder and sent to court for prosecution,” CSD investigators revealed.
“Suspect Gaye, during preliminary investigations denied all allegations linking him to the death of the victim , but cogent information coupled with eye witness accounts gathered on the crime same linked suspect Gaye,” Lee Jackson Suah CSD officer said.
When this paper contacted Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Mendin Larmie on the issue, he confirmed that the incident occurred in the forest of Dowablee Town in Kparblee district .
“A Burkinabe was allegedly murder on the farm while working in the forest along with two of his friends,” ACP Larmie said .
“The two Burkinabe friends, Karbe Saliff and Karbe Daouda , escaped and reported the case on May 9, 2025 to the Police , following which six suspects were arrested, but one of the suspects, Augustine Gaye, was charged with murder and sent to court for prosecution,” ACP Larmie added.
