A man identified as Lawrence King has gruesomely killed his 44-year-old girlfriend in Handii Town, Fuamah Electoral District 7, Lower Bong County.
According to an eyewitness (Solomon Kollie), Lawrence King allegedly killed Victim Dorris Muana on Thursday night in Handii Town following an alleged tough confrontation between both of them regarding love affairs.
Mr. Kollie revealed that the suspected perpetrator, Lawrence King, reportedly confessed to the crime to some citizens before fleeing and has not been seen since then.
He alleged that suspect, Lawrence King and his victim Dorris Mauna have been in a secret love affair, adding that they usually meet in the bush to satisfy their sexual desires.
Mr. Kollie emphasized that they, as citizens, were surprised when victim Dorris Mauna was discovered dead at the early hours of May 16, 2025 in the bush, when Dorris attended a wake-keeping with some friends and citizens of the town on Thursday night.
He said after the discovery, a 15-member jury was set up to physically observe the lifeless body of Madam Dorris Mauna upon arrival at the crime scene, wounds were seen on the body.
He added that when the body was examined, there were wound marks observed on the neck and knees of the victim; something the jury believed led to the death of Dorris Muana.
He, at the same time, said the cause of Lawrence King’s action is yet to be known, while others believed that his action was triggered as a result of jealousy.
Moreover, family members have described her death as a brutal and senseless act that has shattered their lives and shaken their trust in the justice system.
Meanwhile, the Liberia National Police Bong Detachment has launched a rigorous manhunt for suspect Lawrence King, who is said to be on the run.
Bong County Police Commander, Fasu V. Sheriff, confirmed the finding and acknowledged that King had reportedly admitted his actions to several individuals before fleeing.
“We understand the pain of the family and the community,” Commander Sheriff said. “King will be found and brought to justice. We urge the family to remain calm as we continue our investigation.”
